Margaret Mead has a public service announcement regarding Earth Day: “Earth Day is the first holy day that is going to be celebrated by the whole world. This is the first time we have a day suited to everyone. Earth Day represents a step toward a communal concern of the environment. There is too much stress on our waters and our air, largely due to cities who dump their waste in nearby waters and chemical substances the environment cannot tolerate. We are using up fossil fuels too fast; there will soon be none left. We must realize that all countries are tied together.”
